October 2008
Work is well underway on creating a new multi-million pound base for the international oil field service company Expro’s Tronic division in Ulverston, south Cumbria.
The company, which is relocating from its historic Sandside Road home is moving to a new purpose-built property on the Low Mill Business Park with completion due for mid-2009. The building, where sustainability and environment are key elements for Expro means that the site will also employ rainwater harvesting technology and solar heating. Wind power generation is also being considered for the site. Tronic was established in Ulverston and has been part of the international oil field service company Expro since 1998; the new facility will have the capability to employ more than 450 staff.
The existing buildings on the Sandside Road site are to be disposed of and Peill & Company have been retained by Expro in the disposal. The current site extends to approximately 1 hectare, with around 4,000 sq m (42,000 sq ft) of existing buildings, and will be marketed in late 2008. Further information is available from Simon Adams at simon@peill.com.
